Robert
W. Kembel is an independent consultant and the founder of Connectivity
Solutions, a training and design firm that specializes in Serial
Attached SCSI (SAS), Fibre Channel, ESCON, and IBM Block Multiplex
Channel. He has over 28 years of product development and I/O subsystem
architecture experience at IBM. He has represented IBM's high
performance tape and library products at the ANSI Fibre Channel
and SCSI committees, T11 and T10.
As both an architect and an experienced ASIC designer, he brings
a unique blend of architectural overview to his classes tempered
with a strong dose of implementor's practicality. He is a member
of ANSI T11 committee, which is developing the Fibre Channel Standard
and former technical editor of the Private Loop Direct Attach
(FC-PLDA) document describing requirements for devices with direct
attachment to Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop.
